Getting close to the Second Baby
Thu., Nov 17
With just over a week and a half left until Christine's due date, I
thought I'd take a minute and reflect on how the second pregnancy is so
different from the first one:
- We were going to Subway for lunch a couple of days ago. Pregnant women aren't supposed to eat cold cuts. When I asked Christine about it she said "ahhh... it's my second baby".
- We actually had to buy stuff this time! We needed to buy a 2nd changing pad, and a bouncy seat! Last time we got EVERYTHING has a hand me down.
- We haven't even SHOWN the sonograms to anyone, never mind hang them on the fridge, or post them on the website.
- We're a lot more tired already.
- We already have a will and a college account set up for this one! Of course that's because we waited so long for Max's that it was easy enough to do them both at the same time.
- Instead of reading books about childbirth, we're reading books about sibling rivalries.
- Last time I had a dozen frozen meals in the freezer a month before the due date. This time my biggest concern is I'm almost out of ice cream.
- Christine has hardly started nesting.
- Our house is ALREADY full of toys, and we don't have any clue how we can fit more in.
- Last time 5 days before due date we were having private family time. This time 5 days before due date we're having a dozen people over for Thanksgiving.
