Jan 2005 Progress Report

Mon., Jan 17 Max just got his progress report from school. They're always fun to read. This time around one thing in particular sounded so much like daddy it was really funny.

Sophie commented:

Max seems to like music, but when we take him to the all-center sing, he tends to fall asleep during the most active songs. The other children up and dancing to a lively tune triggers a sleep response for Max; maybe he finds it a little over stimulating.


The reason this is so funny is because when I have a *really* bad headache, or if I'm really exhausted, the thing that I find most relaxing is really loud, heavy music. Faith No More, Primus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.

Christine thinks I'm crazy, but I find it's sometimes good to have something so intense that you can't ignore it. I find it very relaxing and meditative (where I get bored silly by "traditional" meditative things like yoga, or chanting).
