Updates on Max

Fri., Sep 10 The three coolest things Max is doing these days concern motion, communication and socializing.

MOTION:

He's crawling like crazy and his speed has gotten faster lately. He pulls himself up to standing very easily now, and he's even taken a few steps (3 for those of you that count such things). He loves stairs, and can go up or down (he's better at going up). He's quite the climber.

COMMUNICATION:

He's constantly talking to himself, and to others. We don't understand all the words, but many of them we do. "Wat Da" is "What's That?", "Da Da" and "Ma Ma" are easy. "Ball", "Al Done" and "Dina" (diner) are also pretty clear. There are lots of one time words (including "Insulation"). He's also pretty clear with his sign language. He loves waving and seeing how many adults will wave back. He does the sign for "light" quite often at anything that's bright. For a while now hes been shaking his head to mean "no" when he doesn't want a specific type of food. He's recently realized that "no" can apply to other things such as "show mommy what youve got in your hand".

SOCIALIZING:

Max LOVES hugs and company. His favorite restaurant is Osaka. The other night 3 different members of the wait staff picked him up and carried him around, and others waved to him and tickled his cheeks. He also loves having company on the way to school, when he carpools with Reid.
